Privacy Statement

Economit is committed to protecting your privacy. Authorised employees on a need-to-know basis, use any information collected from other organisations including customers and suppliers that engage with Economit in relation to the services provided by the company. We are allowed to process your information as we have or expect to be entering a contract between us. We constantly review our systems, supporting processes and data to ensure all data we process is always protected. 

Should any party attempt to breach our systems or data, maliciously or otherwise, we will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible. 

Potential Employees

We will collect information either directly or via any recruitment agency that we use. This information will be processed by Economit solely for the purposes of entering into a contract of employment. We will conduct background checks. All applicants are entitled to ask us to stop processing the information that we have collected, however, that will result in you withdrawing from the recruitment process. If you are unsuccessful, your information will be securely destroyed after 6 months unless you consent for us to keep it for longer. If you are successful, any personal information collected will be added to your personnel file and will be retained until seven years after your separation from us. 

Client data

Client records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party, unless legally required to do so to appropriate authorities. When processing your data, we will always work according to your policies. If you are in the process of implementing a privacy information management system, then we will apply Economit’s own policies. Clients have the right to request copies of all Client Records we keep, on the proviso that we are given reasonable notice of such a request. Economit will collate the information requested within 30 days, where extensions are required, this will be communicated before the end of the 30-day period. Clients are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall issue Client’s with appropriate written information, handouts, or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties. We will securely destroy all information within 7 years of the termination date of the contract. We will not sell, share, or rent personal information of any kind to any third party nor will we use e-mail addresses for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by this Company will only be in relation to the provision of agreed services. 

All Economit consultants working with your data will be screened according to the HMG Baseline Personal Security Screening standard (HMG BPSS). DBS basic checks will be repeated every two years. Please contact dpo@economit.co.uk if you need standard or enhanced DBS checks performed.

Confidentiality

We are registered with the ICO under the Data Protection Act 2018. Our registration number is Z2983382. No information will be transferred between Economit and third parties except where there is a valid legal instrument such as a contract or a Data Processing Agreement, information will only be transferred in relation to the provision of agreed services contained within the legal instrument.
